Read Brothers Ltd, a timber merchant based on the Sweet Briar Road Industrial Estate in Norwich have been serving the construction industry in East Anglia since 1981. They specialise in all softwoods, hardwoods and timber-based sheet materials and are also market leaders in timber engineering, specialising in the design and manufacture of trussed rafter roofs, easi-joist® metal web floors and timber frame buildings.
Directors Steve and Brian Read both played at the top level of Norfolk Club cricket, initially with Vauxhall Mallards before moving to Horsford where Steve went on to become first team Captain and eventually Club Chairman.
Steve was Managing Director for 35 years before he sadly died in 2016, since then Brian has assumed the role.
"When the opportunity of sponsoring the EAPL arose my first thoughts were of Steve and I knew that he would have jumped at the chance so it was a very easy decision for me", said Brian.
